Local Photographer Receives Award for Outstanding Images.

Veteran freelance commercial photographer Jayne Erickson of Sioux Falls received top honors at the regional Professional Photographers of America annual awards ceremony in Brainerd, Minnesota.

Jayne won two prestigious Kodak Gallery Awards for "Vision Dance" and "Petals Aflame". Her image "Petals Aflame" went on to score third place in the National Gallery Ellite competition. Both images hung at the 111th annual exhibition of PPA in Atlantic City,
New Jersey. They will also be displayed at the Gallery Award Exhibit at Epcot Center, Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida from August 31 to November 30th, 2002. The Kodak Gallery Exhibit has become an annual event that is recognized for its outstanding quality of photographic images from professionals throughout the United States and Canada. Approximately 3,000 quests go through the exhibit on a daily basis.

Jayne also received the Fujifilm Masterpiece Award for outstanding illustration photography and state awards for top nonmaster portrait and illustrative photographer. The photographs are judged on strong subject matter and creative vision in commercial and portrait work.
